-DEVELOPED AND PUBLISHED FOR Wii™, PLAYSTATION®2 SYSTEM AND PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) SYSTEM-
Vicious Cycle Software, a premier developer of interactive entertainment and game development technology, today announced that Despicable Me™: The Game™, based on Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s 3D CGI feature film, is the first video game developed and published for Wii™, the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, and the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) handheld entertainment system using Vicious Engine 2 (Ve2) technology. D3Publisher (D3P), a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, together with its parent D3Publisher Inc., announced a worldwide publishing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing for the video games.
Earlier this year, the company expanded cross-platform support for Ve2—a comprehensive, easy to access suite of development tools that are accessible to all members of a software development team allowing them to focus on game content rather than core technology.
“We have expanded cross platform support for Ve2 to help our clients meet the high-quality demands of current-gen game development, and we have no doubt that game developers and publishers will find our technology the most complete game development solution currently available on the market,” said Eric Peterson, President and CEO of Vicious Cycle.
The adaptable, easy-to-learn Vicious Engine suite has been used to design games of every style, from adventure/platformers like Dead Head Fred® to instructional titles like Hilton Hotels’ Ultimate Team Play and casual games like Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords®. Vicious Engine 2, which launched in March 2009, is showcased in side-scrolling shooter Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond for both Xbox LIVE® Arcade and PlayStation®Network and Despicable Me: The Game for Wii, the PlayStation®2 system and the PSP system.
